Major project:flipsnack
Flipsnack is a digital software in the form of a website used to help you create a flipbook to present a lookbook, an idea or anything you need to present.
I created an account on flipsnack and then selected create from scratch method. I began by adding pages first and then brainstormed ideas about the colour palette. I wanted a minimal look without it looking busy as it would take away the attention from what had to be seen which were the looks i created.
The process first began by trying to choose the right colour for the background and chose grey but it was very gloomy and dark and i did not want the flipbook page to start off uninteresting hence i chose the white minimal look and decided to upload my sketches and choose some of them to put them in tiny mode next to each other to make the reader eager and question himself on what the context of this flipbook is. After changing the font and letter size i moved onto putting the looks together on the pages.
Also the second page of the lookbook after the cover is considered the first page was describing my collection, it's aims, what it is inspired from and what materials were mostly used along with colours.
I chose the font to abril fatface and size 21px and described what the outfit was about, what materials were used and what it promoted. Also i used photopea to create the colour palette of the look and this was it.
This was the last page of my flipbook where it writes my name and has the link of the flipbook on. I did this on photopea using hard mechanical brush.
This was the inspiration for how the looks would be presented on each page. The themes was to have the looks on the right hand side and on the left the description and at the bottom or top, depending on the look, the colour palette.
Overall using flipsnack was easier than i anticipated it to be and was fulfilling watching your hard work come together as one.
After finishing flipsnakci copied the link and went and embedded it on my website as a subpage to portfolio named lookbook.
