First Thoughts
Throughout term 2 my blog will have key posts for my set project which will indicate my continuation route. The aim of the project is to have six 2D outcomes and the blog will be considered my sketchbook to portray a chosen theme and the final work will be presented on my website.
There are 3 themes which are available for us to choose from. Purple Haze which means using the colour purple in what it represents in our designs, Earthly Delights which can be incorporated in whichever way we want and Expressionism which forces us to look deeply into expressionism and incorporate it into the project.
I am mostly drawn towards the theme called "Earthly Delights" as it can be incorporated in many ways in my eyes. It can be used as creating a collection of six pieces that are revolved towards earthy tones which are trending at the moment or it can be also used as a metaphor. If i were to use it as a metaphor it could be associated around global warming and the harm that the environment faces daily. Using this theme i could draw outfits that have a deeper meaning such as representing a 'burning tree' in which the skirt for example could be made out of green feathers, the top out of brown to represent the log and the shoes out of red to represent the fires such as the amazon forest fire. Nevertheless if i were to do this collection it could be used as a form to express global issues through art in this case fashion, hence it would not be a collection of 6 fashionable and wearable pieces but it would tell a story.
