Welcome post
Welcome to the spring term 2021:)
This is the second term at DMUIC followed by a second lockdown and working from home remotely. This gives everyone an opportunity to either manipulate or let it pass. This term aids students explore new modules and find out what they truly like after the first term and give it all. Term 2 can be outdone as one can work at whatever time fits him and create something he would not have the time to create in the past due to poor time management. This term i would like to elevate my skills generally and try to do the best i can in my art portfolio in order to present my best work. I would like to impress myself by exploring several forms of art and find the one i love doing. I would like to create something that makes myself proud and inspires other people to also do something similar in their own way. Over the break several things inspired me such as practicing with clay and creating ashtrays with different miniatures of hearts, stars and vegetables that have deeper meanings. Also using clay i created several objects. Additionally i tried exploring further with paint and started buying acrylics, mixing the with water and just let my feelings flow on the canvas. Nevertheless the whole inspiration behind art during Christmas was Juno Birch. He is a Uk based sculptor, drag queen and youtuber. His theme is a confused alien wife from the sixties mostly inspired by Tim Burton characters(1). Growing up Birch suffered from body dysmorphia and bullying at school as he was transgender. His used this pain and transformed it into a weapon by teaching about self love and doing what you want. This gave him power to start doing what he loved which is art in several forms such as his little clay figurines and becoming successful(2).
