experimentation in class

 Today in class our task was to experiment beyond our comfort zone in order to come up with new ideas of how to develop our work. I decided to experiment by using a maquette and by using acrylics i gave the "skirt" a trunk texture inspired by trees since the theme was the last part of wildfires which is destruction and reminds me of black. Additionally the "boots" were supposed to be tie dye since it is trending for spring/summer 2021 and used ink splashes to do so. Overall i hated the whole idea therefore i improvised and took my "canvas" which was a piece of paper and pressed it against a page of my sketchbook. I was happy with it as it seemed promising to use with tracing paper to develop my own pattern in a way. I then tried it with one more colour which was dark brown and loved the idea. I then traced several designs such as stockings and a cut out minimal dress over a maquette and adjusted it on the sketchbook using tape. In conclusion i enjoyed this task as i got to develop ideas i never thought i would come up with.
