Study of a piece
For this post our goal was to study a piece which we will be mostly using in our collection. Due to the fact that I chose the Ultimate Black theme and concept the fallen angel my first idea was the one shown below. What I tried to do was inspired by Ed Hardy and I was trying to accentuate my drawing and sketching skills. I did not really like it like that as it would be on clothes and not on paper.
Below is the picture.
This is the scanned version.
That was still not it as something was missing and I generally disliked it like that.
I then did another sketch and scanned it and added love but again it was a decent approach and was not really doing it for me hence I added more rose petals and liked my approach.
The idea for the sketch above came from the image below:
After sketching it I decided to add it onto pieces in my collection hence decided to sketch out some boots and use it as the heel. I did not make 10 sketches of the shoes as I felt that I did the 2 most basic sides which I would need in my collection which is front and back.

The inspiration for the shoes came to me from sculptured heels in general but specifically from these:
I then came up with the idea of sketching out 10 t-shirts since the collection is Spring/Summer 2021 and shirts are the most basic item to have. I decided to focus on the sketches the and graphics the shirts would have and this is my approach below:

Overall I am happy with my approach as I explored different designs and became more clear to me which approach I would be taking with the shirts which is mixed quotes and sketches. The inspiration for the tops came from overall the concept indicated below but more inspo will be shown on the following posts specifically for each piece just like last term.
The t-shirt/west sketches work will and give a clearer idea regarding how this is going to develop. Ed Hardy's designs lead me to think of alternative t-shirt branding, a rock star aesthetic such as here: https://www.fashionbeans.com/article/rock-clothing-guide/ or the general look of the tee's and how they have been used across popular media as here: https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2020/apr/05/down-to-a-vintage-tee-pulling-on-a-piece-of-history-vintage-tshirts
