Welcome Post
Welcome to the third term of the undergraduate course 2021:)
This is the third term at DMUIC and fortunately there is not a third lockdown in my country (Cyprus) but I am still working remotely from home. Working from home is still a favour to many of us as this time can be manipulated into creating beautiful, outstanding and creative work which not only aims to amaze our tutors but ourselves too. Following the last two terms I believe everyone has learned from their mistakes and are prepared to give it all for the last term! The last term was a turning point for me as I really enjoyed the whole flow it portrayed but I began being satisfied with my work and the feedback that was projected towards me which made me more confident and gave me motivation. By all means I will still keep my head down and work even harder this term to explore new skills and elevate them with the guidance of our tutor Mr Sam. What is unfortunate is that Mrs Zoe will not be with us this term but Mr Sam is exceptionally as good hence I am very excited for what this term holds. Last term was all about sketches, digital work and for me based on the theme I chose, exploring sustainability. During this term I will be exploring with mediums such as fabric, 3D maquette and sewing clothes which fascinates me as after all my progression route is fashion design! During the break I stepped upon an artist which inspired me, Anjelica Roselyn. I learned about this artist, when I was painting a new painting of mine and wanted some ideas. Angelica Roselyn is an American fashion illustrator in her 20s which creates illustrations for a large number of clientele including Starbucks, Google, Christian Dior, Skinnydip London, Vogue Greece and many more (Lipstick of London, n.d.). Her career began by attending fashion school but then decided that the practical part did not suit her hence started designing, sketching and drawing illustrations following her studying at London College of Fashion majoring in Fashion Design Technology. She interned at fashion houses of Marc Jacobs and Ryan Lo. Roselyn is now a freelance fashion illustrator and owns a studio. She has a strong passion at drawing live and is an expert at that as she can draw really fast when she feels comfortable in the environment she is in (Olewitz, 2017). What really inspired me about this artist but also made me relate in a way is that Angelica does not want to get bored with her work hence is always researching new ideas and themes in which she can explore. I believe this is something really important for artists as the the whole point of being one is to explore and constantly be 5 steps ahead of everything and everyone in order to create something unique in which not only you will love but the audience following you too.
I personally became obsessed with this artists work as it evolves and showcases many themes.

Great choice of images in this post, really like that approach to fashion illustration. You mention that Rosen doesn't let herself get bored with looking for inspiration in different places, and this is an approach that would benefit you. From what I know about you, you are inquisitive and want to broaden the depth of your experience - let that come out on your blog when you start researching your chosen theme. The best fashion projects/portfolios draw their inspiration from a range of places and sources.
