Ariel is the name of the healing Archangel of nature either that being physical or metaphysical. I chose this name as this is an important step in ones healing process after "falling" as one can find himself by being near nature and talking to himself. For this look I chose sheer, do the floss, a mini corset form as they will be trending this Spring/Summer 2021. The effect of this outfit was asymmetric and minimal to accentuate the connection towards nature after one falls and is at his or hers lowest. The materials which I will be using for Ariel are Mesh for the inner shirt, cotton for the off the shoulders top and skirt, leather for the bag, cotton for the leg warmers, Fabric paint for the graphic on the inner shirt and wood for the shoes.
The sketches I made are shown below and will be digitalised.
The colour palette is as shown below:
The main inspiration for this look was:
As it is visible from the Archangel and the nature anime the art of draping and asymmetry is visible which is what I was aiming for this look.
The technique of asymmetry and minimalism of this look was to show the connection of the human form with nature and how humble one becomes when connected to nature after his downfall and shows the purest form of the human form in this case. In addition the graphic design on the shirt was to accentuate the broken wings which revive like the broken twigs in trees which with the help of nature revive. This was to accentuate the broken and how it can be fixed with purity, wellness and will.
The inspiration for the top was as follow:
From this look below I really liked how the top was tights on the waist and how it was loose on the hands. In addition I liked the cropped element on the shirt.
From the image below I liked how flawlessly and randomly the shirt fell on the body.
From the dress below I liked the high neck element on the dress which is what I incorporated into my design.
From the outfit below I really liked how the graphic design fit on the shirt and how it complemented the whole look.
From the image below, I really liked how a normal basic tank top was transformed into a statement piece with the overlapping of fabrics.
From the image below I really liked the mesh top part of the dress and how it potentially could be used like in my design to free the nipple and accentuate femininity even more.
From the dress below I liked how the lace up element was incorporated which is what I did in the middle of the upper shirt in Ariel.
From the top below I really liked the overlapping element again and I incorporated it into my design.
From the top below I liked how the top fit the body.
From the shirt below I liked the graphic design which is similar to my design.
From the top below I liked the overlap and minimalism of the fabric along with asymmetry.
The design of the skirt came to me by the following:
From the look below I liked how the skirt fit the body and how it finishes at the bottom.
From the dress below I really liked how it fit the body and how the bottom fell on the body if visualised as a skirt.
From the set below I liked the fit of the skirt and the asymmetry of the top.
From the image below I loved the way the skirt fit the body even if it is a mini skirt.
From the image below I liked the bottom of the skirt and its length.
The inspiration for the bag is shown below. The reason why the bag is so small is to show the respect one should have for people who judge before knowing someone and build an image for one based on ones mistakes. In addition mini bags are trending and will be trending this season.
The inspiration for the shoes came from the following:
The main focus for the sculptured heel of the shoe came from river rocks which are part of nature and how the fallen connect to it. In addition certain rocks are believed to have certain powers which is what many people believe in when something happens.
In addition Strappy heels were an important aspect for the heels as they represent the entanglement one feels inside after "falling".
Another focus for this collection were Birkenstocks as they remind me of wood which is the purest form of nature.
Overall this look is very important as it had to show the connection of a "fallen angel" with nature. Process will be up soon.
