Set Project: Look3/ Zadkiel

Zadkiel is the angel of forgiveness. The reason I chose this Archangel is because people who have made mistakes, the number one thing they are seeking is forgiveness. I have been there but what I did not realise then is that the first person you have to forgive before forgiving others is yourself. This look gives off this specific aura. It is subtly sleek, but has playful graphic designs in order to show that it is okay to be wrong sometimes but through forgiving yourself one must not lose himself. The trends shown are cut outs and do the floss on the heels. The materials used are cotton for the dress, fabric paint for the graphics and leather and wood for the heels.

The sketches are sown below:

The colour palette:

The main inspiration:
As you can see the angel is wearing a two piece hence is also contextual to my design. I was greatly inspired by Zadkiel as he also shows that forgiveness does not come with what one is wearing which brings me back to my main point which is the wrong perception of people for people who have made mistakes.

The inspiration for the dress:

I really liked how the top was cut in this specific manner hence I was also inspired by the two cut outs and decided how would it look if I connected them together?
I liked the bodycon element of this maxi dress.
Again, the bodycon.
I liked the ruched element and bodycon fit and how it ends at the bottom.
I liked the strappy element on the neck.
I liked the shape of the bustier.
I liked the neckline and the cut outs.

The inspiration for the shoes was:

I really liked how precise the point was on the pumps along with the heel.
I like the wraparound on the foot.
Again, the wraparound and heel along with details.
I liked the wraparound on the ankle and the point that separates from the whole shoe which is what I did with my shoe.

I liked the do the floss element and that it is open in the back like my design.

The inspiration for the bag was:

Overall as it is visible in this collection and previous ones I have an obsession with mini bags as I believe they can represent so many things from points of views to subjects or to give emphasis on the look more rather than the bag taking away from it or vice versa.
Overall I believe my research is satisfactory and the process will be up.

  1. Some exhaustive visual research that backs up your idea comprehensively here, would like a bit more explanation about how each element is contributing to your design at the top of the post, but other wise this is really exciting, well done.
