Set Project Look 5: Raziel Painting Process
So, after I finished sewing my own 2 pieces, I had to paint them to geth the other part of the message across, self love after falling and acceptance.
I began by laying out the top and skirt.
I then looked at my materials which were a brush, a primer and 2 colours of fabric paint which I got from the local art store.
primer
white paint which I did not use eventually
Grey to brown paint
Thin brush
I then opened the primer and dipped the brush inside.
and began writing my graphic.
I then went over it with a layer of fabric paint.
A close up.
And then did the second layer in order to make it more vibrant.
This is what it looked after when I moved to the second line.
This was when the front part of the shirt was done.
I then realised that all of this time and waiting for it to dry I had painted the wrong side, which was the inline. I felt so confused with myself but this was better as I got the hang of it better and my hand was more steady the second time hence I had to redo the top front from the right side.
This is when I did the back.
I then began drawing on the skirt and primed again before drawing but found it easier to adjust the space by drawing the letters of the first word of each sentence and it worked.
This was when finally the front was finished and then it would look better when dry and ruched hence the space. In addition my goal was not for it to be perfect as the aim of the collection is that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes and we must learn to love ourselves from the outside and within.
This is what it looked like when I started the back side.
This is when I finished the backside almost.
This was when the backside was done.
And below is the final piece!!!!
Overall I am very proud of myself as it was the first time drawing on fabric and my mistake especially on the top is that I fixed the ruching in place and this made it more difficult to paint. It is okay though as, as I mentioned earlier no one is perfect and imperfections are normal like the concept of the collection.
My model was my sister. Site testing pictures will be up as well as final pictures.
