Ideas generation: SMART objective for sign off

 For this project i will be using the concept of Gemstones. I will portray the specific concept using inspiration from e-girls and Disney princesses. My subject area is Fashion Design hence i will be creating 8 outfits which will shine light on these matters. It is in my power to accomplish it as these are concepts which really fascinate me and creating them into one concept using jewels as the main focus is my passion as its something i have not seen yet. The concept is realistic as these concepts can be combined into one if one uses them wisely and does not go off subject. This project can be achieved in 6 weeks. The artists which i will mainly be researching are Marc Jacobs, Rei Kawakubo and Anna Sui. On the contrary the digital software which i will be using is still unknown. This will be a challenging project digital wise as i will be challenging myself with software i have not used in the past but i love developing my skills so it will be quite enjoyable. The final images will be presented in a digital portfolio form. My thoughts on this project are complicated as it will be something i do not have a physical visual of but i have many examples at my expense to elaborate and create original ideas.

Gemstones have several meanings according to their type. Below i will show the diamonds which i am interested in using for my project.

RUBY : Ruby is traditionally red and is symbolic of courage, life force, and passion.(1)

 

AMETHYST : Amethyst is a myriad of colors with purple predominantly and is renowned for protection, cleansing, and healing.(1)

EMERALD : Emerald is known for its rich green variations and is associated with love, rebirth, and fertility.(1)

ALEXANDRITE : Alexandrite is typically purple, green, and blue and stands for intuition, creativity, and imagination.(1)

MOONSTONE : Moonstone comes in a variety of colors with translucent effects, but the best Moonstone features a blue sheen and colorless body. This mysterious stone is symbolic for intuition, inner work, and patience.(1)

DIAMOND : Diamond is most popular in its colorless variety, but is also found in colors and it stands for purpose, initiation, and clarity.(1)

Fashion designers who use diamonds in their work include Alexander Mcqueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Manolo Blank, Judith Lieber, Miu Miu, Area, Gucci, David Koma and Victoria's Secret. On this project i would like to mostly focus on the Victoria's Secret fantasy bras which are completely made out of diamonds and range between one million to fifteen million. I would like to use the concept of the fantasy bras to create a bustier of perhaps a bodysuit and a chiffon skirt to embrace the diamonds. All the ideas will be elaborated in the future through my work.

Also Gucci has amazing tights with rhinestones which will look amazing with the grunge aesthetic. Additional designers who use the grunge/emo/goth aesthetic include Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Christian Francis, Alexander Mcqueen, Jun Takahashi and Rei Kawakubo(2). Nevertheless i wanted to combine the "comme de garcons" vibe with disney princesses as several people define alternative clothing or different clothing which is outside their comfort zone as emo or goth and show these people that these pieces of clothing can also be classy and look amazing and fashionable.

My main focus for this project from disney princesses will be Cinderella and Rapunzel due to their character which is innocent but strong but also of their wardrobe.
